Poetry Writing (Senior School)

See the Middle School poetry writing page for some simpler poetry forms.

See the Poetry Techniques page, also.

RECOMMENDATION: Use Rhyme Desk as a space to write your poetry. It makes it easy to look up rhyming words and synonyms as you go.

Traditional Styles

Acrostic

Traditional Greek form of poetry which you probably did in primary school. Normally the first letter of each line spells out a word. However, there’s a few more advanced forms where the word is produced from different points on the line.
