Senbazuru
There is a tradition in Japan called Senbazuru, where you can have a wish granted if you fold 1000 paper cranes. https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/senbazuru-paper-cranes-2540651
The most famous story about senbazuru is that of Sadako. This young girl developed leukemia due to the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima. She tried to make a senbazuru but died before she could.
